POINT CLOUD TO BIM MODELING

point-cloud-to-bim.pngBIM (Building Information Modeling) is the fastest growing area of application for 3D laser scanning. Point cloud to BIM aplications can be divided into two main areas:

-Plans of pre-existing structures generated via point cloud

-Comparing and monitoring construction plans to the newly finished buildings.

DESIGN PREPARATION

bim-rendering-form-pointcloud.jpgAs a design tool, laser scanner technology allows for a succinct documentation of preexisting structures. What ever the project may be, accurately documenting the initial conditions of a site proves to be an invaluable tool in all phases of design and construction.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND DOCUMENTATION

For complex projects involving a variety of different construction elements, quickly managing the progress and precision of work can often become an issue. Use laser scanning technology to streamline project documentation and time management.

For projects that extend across a long period of time, point cloud data quickly reflects the current state of construction, and provides essential data for planning further installations or buildings.

PRECISE MODELING FROM POINT CLOUDS

creating-a-bim-model.pngWhen generating a BIM model, we make it our business to sit down with a client in order to determine the specific features needed for each plan. We think its important to tailor the content of our BIM models for the needs of the designer, engineer, or contractor required to work with them. We focus on issues such as:

  • Foundations, roof structures, windows, doors, openings or any other structural issue.
  • Electrical, plumbing, communications, HVAC or other ventilation systems, and any other building utility asset.
  • Equipment fixtures and their placement, control cabinets or booths, or other industrial considerations.

When we have finished generating the list of required elements, we will fax a quote to regarding a price and time frame for completion.

WE PROVIDE CAD MODELS FOR The FOLLOWING SOFTWARE SUITES

  • Autodesk Revit
  • Vectorworks
  • Autodesk AutoCAD
  • Bentley Architecture
  • Trimble (nee Google) Sketchup
